Macrobid/ Macrodantin

• Macrobid/Macrodantin contains Nitrofurantoin which is a broad-spectrum Antibacterial Agent, active against the majority of Urinary Pathogens.
• They are Indicated for the treatment of and Prophylaxis against acute or recurrent, uncomplicated lower urinary tract infections or Pyelitis either spontaneous or following surgical procedures.
• Nitrofurantoin is specifically indicated for the treatment of infections when due to susceptible strains of Escherichia Coli, Enterococci, Staphylococci, Citrobacter, Klebsiella and Enterobacter

Presentation

• Macrobid is a modified release, hard gelatin capsule containing the equivalent of 100mg of Nitrofurantoin in the form of Nitrofurantoin Macrocrystals and Nitrofurantoin Monohydrate
• Macrodantin capsules contains either 50mg or 100mg Nitrofurantoin ph eur in Macrocrystalline form
